There are two kinds of people that exist in this world: Those who love packing their bags for their trips and those who do it in the last-minute. Sometimes, it can so overwhelming to go through the packing process as you have to make a chunk of decisions: Which pants, shirts, accessories and toiletries do you need to pack? Which one can you leave at home? And once you sit in your Uber or taxi to the airport, you realise that you did miss something – DAMN, not again!
1. Use Packing Cubes
Do you like clean desks at your workplace? Then you will also probably love to pack your stuff in an organised fashion. Prepare your trips with packing cubes can help you to pack your belonging more organised. Leave behind the nights and the days before your flight where you throw everything in your suitcase – just to no longer find where exactly what item is that you need right now.
2. Roll Your Clothing
It’s much easier to roll your clothing for your luggage than to fold it. If you belong to those people who always love to overpack (so that’s impossible to zip), then roll it! You will get some more space for that. If you carry some shirts or trousers, the iron in your hotel room or AirBnB will serve you the best. 🙂
3. Always Have Essential Toiletries In Your Luggage
Do you know what’s the most annoying thing? When you brush your teeth or you need to use some of your perfurms and your suitcase is still not zipped – precisely because you are using that item right now. This whole packing and unpacking can be quite annoying, especially if you travel all the time, e.g. for business reasons. Leave the most essential toiletries in your luggage all the time. And buy them in sample-size. You will then never ever forget an item because you will purely use them when you are on the road.
4. Choose Your Outfits – And Pack Accordingly
It’s so annoying to pack the things you would love to wear based on the single items you have. Think about what kind of outfits you want to wear during your trip and pack then accordingly. Of course, you can make sure to pack some back up items as well. Because you never know what’s going to happen while you are on the road.
5. Leave Some Essentials In Your Luggage
And sometimes a thing called “life” is coming across your feet. You planned enough time for the packing process but something more urgently needs your attention right now. Getting some work tasks done before your leave that will blow up your schedule? Make life easier and always leave the most essential items in your suitcase. All the time. Make sure your life is as easy and hassle free as possible. Cut out as many annoying decisions as possible. Because otherwise, you will be completely exhausted from this.
