Frequent travellers may be well too familiar with those situations. Flying can be an exhausting activity with long waiting times, delays, especially during the weekends. If flying alone can be sometimes a dramatic experience, then what about the airports?
We have collected four of the WORST airport habits that will annoy other travellers especially! Are you one of them?
a) At The Check-In Counter
This may be one of the worst lanes out of the many following during your trip. The queue at the check-in counter. If you are not checking-in online and only travel with your hand luggage, then you may bring a lot of patience for your upcoming flight. You are probably already too late, there are a bunch of people before you and you wonder why the hell it takes ages until it’s your turn. The passenger who always wants that god damn window seat, or didn’t read the luggage policies of the airline upon the check-in and refuses to pay that extra charge.
b) At The Security Lane
There is a high chance that you already encountered this situation: You are rushing to your gate and still need to pass the security line. A bunch of folks are still in front of you. Time is running out for you because your train to the airport had some delays, or the Uber driver took the wrong route to the airport and you were stuck in a jam. And then, there are some folks who obviously can’t read signs: Even though for first-time travellers, there are plenty of signs that let you know to leave tablets, smartphones or laptops on trays. That toiletries ought to be packed in transparent bags. And if you are not prepared until it’s your turn, you really made it to the list!
c) The Trays After Security Screening
It’s always a surprise how many people oversee separate tables at the end of the security screening that are dedicated for those travellers who need a little bit of time to collect all their belongings and need to store them in the pieces of luggage. And if you are staying at the belt, you literally block the whole process and slow it down for other travellers.
d) Are Seats Being Made For Luggage?
When was your last time you took a flight on a Friday afternoon, a Sunday evening for a weekend getaway or on an early Monday for a business trip? You bet it: The gate is full of passengers! Some pissed off probably because they lost the patience at all those queues to get there. And then there is that kind of traveller who truly thinks that seats are being made for their luggage – give them to one of your fellow passengers!
e) Boarding Anarchy
The reason why most airlines board by specific classes or zones is to make the whole process more efficient and not to lose time. So, why the rush to be the first one to get on the plane? Probably because they want to secure the best overhead locker spot to avoid putting stuff in front of their seats. If you choose an airline that doesn’t control this process, then boarding, and consequently, the whole flight experience can become pretty messy. Put your ego aside, you don’t always need to jump on your feet when the boarding announcement starts. It’s okay not to be the first one in the line!
